Chef Ron Skaar
Ron Skaar, a Minneapolis native, moved to San
Francisco after receiving his degree in the arts from St. Olaf College.
He worked in the catering business with Armando Arroyo, then started his
own special events business, Palate Inc.
Based in San Francisco, Ron catered from New York
City to Hollywood and many points in between. Ron developed a broad based
and unique clientele (i.e.: Macy’s, Cartier, Charles Schwab to Sophia
Loren). He became executive chef at the Wattis Room in Davies Symphony
Hall, then opened a café and events space in the S.M.O.A. district of San
Francisco.
In the mid nineties, Ron sold Palate Inc., relocated
to Sonoma County, worked with Elaine Bell catering. Then later became
“Chef to the Stars” for the Luther Burbank Center For The Arts. (Creating
menus for stars such as Jose Carrares, Ottmar Liebert, kd. Lang, Lilly
Tomlin, Jewel, PINK, Moody Blues, Vince Gil, and Wynonna).
Ron now lives in Cloverdale, raises orchids, pursues
the art of watercolors, and has begun his new adventure in food, Fresh
Details-a special events business for the wine country.
